How to Create Instagram Reel Transitions to Create More Entertaining Videos
I know I have talked about it a lot, but I am going to keep talking about it because creating educational, entertaining, and inspiring short-form videos for Instagram, YouTube and TikTok is going to be more important as social media platforms continue to put a bigger emphasis on encouraging users to stay on their platforms longer — aka users watching videos.
Within Instagram and TikTok, you may have seen videos where the person changes clothes or is talking back and forth pretending to be different people — those videos are called Instagram reel transitions, and they are a great way to make videos more engaging and fun versus having someone just stand in front of the camera.
How to create Instagram Reel Transitions:
1. Open up the Instagram reel video feature.
2. Click the timer (stopwatch icon) on the right or left side of your video (it should be 2nd of the bottom for most people)
3. Move the pink bar (swipe from right) to the number of seconds you want to record. Time it with whatever audio you want to use. You may have to listen to the audio a few times to get it to end on the specific audio you want in your video.
4. Change up your background or clothing - and stand in the same position (or a position where you are “looking” at yourself). The align feature helps with this.
5. Edit your final video by following the back arrow in the bottom left corner of your screen, here you can edit, trim and change up clips.
To feel confident in creating your own Instagram Reels with transitions, it really just takes practice. Keep playing around with how to add transitions to Instagram Reels, and save your videos (if you are feeling like you don’t want to show the world just yet).
Confidence comes with practice! So just get started and play around with the Instagram Reel Transition features! Oh - and tag me in a video at @sharayray if you take any of this advice!
