Link Tree - Wait, Is It Better Than a Website Landing Page?

Link Tree - Wait, Is It Better Than a Website Landing Page?

I have written a few blog posts about LinkTree and other "link in bio" platforms that people use to create a custom landing page with different links to all your social media accounts and other websites (check out how these businesses use linktree alternatives to share links to their website, blogs, products pages, and even reservations pages). This is especially useful for people who are active on multiple social media platforms and want to make it easy for their followers to find everything in one place.

These landing page tools are great for marketers because they provide a simple way to promote multiple products or services at once. I have always said that businesses should create their own version of linktree on their own websites (read more about why I don't recommend LinkTree).

BUT.

While I was in a session about social media analytics from Brie Anderson at Social Media Marketing World she mentioned that she loves using Linktree as her Link in Bio landing page.

I was in shock! Someone who works with Google analytics would want that traffic going to their website, right!?

Well, I wasn't the only one confused by this statement another person in the audience asked why Linktree vs your own website and she said, "Google doesn't like it when people are only on a website page for seconds."

And it hit me -- yes, getting extra traffic to your website looks good, but, for SEO purposes, you want people to stay awhile and if they are just going to a landing page on your website just to immediately click over to another website or another page on your website, then it really isn't doing that much good.

Wow.

So, while I still stand by my original statement that businesses should create their own versions of LinkTree on their own websites, I can see how, from a marketing standpoint, using a platform like LinkTree could be beneficial. It provides a simple way to promote multiple products or services at once and, more importantly, can provide a lot of data (including includes total clicks, click-through rate, the average time to click, total unique clicks and views, and total views).

As marketers, we are always looking for new ways to reach our target audience and promote our products or services. Linktree is a great tool that can help you do just that.

The beauty of Linktree is that it is very simple to use and set up. You don't need any technical knowledge or skills, which makes it accessible to anyone who wants to use it. Plus, it's completely free. But, the Pro version would be the one I would recommend because of the customization and analytics.

So if you're looking for a way to streamline your online presence and make things easier for your followers, then Linktree is definitely worth checking out

And yes, I can admit when I am wrong...
