California Coast.

Made it out of Wally's Wine & Spirits in downtown LA with less than $200 in sparkling wine / craft beer.

On the patio enjoying a drink and this view from the restaurant at the Cliff's Resort in Pismo Beach.

Before dinner, we watched the sun set over the horizon. There is NOTHING more spectacular than watching the sunset over the ocean.  We opted for dinner within walking distance of our hotel, and since the sun had already set, no pictures were taken of our awesome meal at Marisol at the Cliff's (our hotel's restaurant).

No stop in Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo County is complete without a stop at Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso. Even better - they just released their 805 Blonde Ale (one of my favorite beers, AND can only be found in the 805 area code) in cans!  PERFECT for summertime.  Jeff and I grabbed a few cases and headed back home...

Our road trip from Paso to Santa Rosa took several hours because the memorial day weekend traffic - but thankfully we had an audiobook (Influx by Daniel Suarez), so we were just fine.

Cheese + beer sunset appetizers (Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog Goat Cheese + Lost Abbey Santa Maria Ale) with our new picnic blanket and cutting board, courtesy of Jeff's family for our one year anniversary.

The next morning we woke up early and ran down to the beach - just in time to watch the sun rise above the San Luis Obispo cliffs.  This early morning activity could be something I could get used to. Perhaps sun salutations and early morning yoga on the beach?!?

Seriously -- This view right before the sun came out, was amazing. Shell beach/Pismo beach is a perfect combination of Northern California coast beauty, with Southern California beach warmth.
